Career Days and AIESEC
Since the year 1969, AIESEC has organised career events at most Swiss universities. Since 2005, these events are coordinated nationally and carry the name AIESEC Swiss Career Days. In 2009, events are taking place at 7 universities with around 100 participating companies, 40 company presentations and 10 workshops. Pictured below, are the presidents of all the local organising committees, as well as the responsible one on national level.
What is AIESEC?
AIESEC, founded in 1948, is the world’s largest student-run organisation. It is present in more than 100 countries and at 1’100 universities. Its members (currently over 30’000) are voluntarily involved in the organisation besides their studies. The international platform of AIESEC enables young people to gain leadership experience, develop management- und crucial soft skills, build a global network of contacts and gain a global perspective, while experiencing diversity and turning theory from lectures into practical business behaviour.
Kofi Annan, former Secretary General, United Nations says about AIESEC: "The United Nations has long recognised that the imagination, ideals and energies of young men and women are vital for the continuing development of the societies in which they live. And since its inception in 1948, AIESEC has contributed to this development by serving as an agent of positive change trough education and cultural exchange."
